Dated 07/07/2020 – For Immediate Release by Executive Alliance, Inc.

To all of our valued business colleagues:

Executive Alliance is saddened to announce that Mary Lou Heastings – our founder, CEO, and the heart of our company – suffered a debilitating stroke in April of this year. Ms. Heastings has required acute medical care and, based on her level of needs and input from her medical professionals, will not be able to continue Executive Alliance’s mission.

Ms. Heastings founded Executive Alliance approximately 17 years ago with a vision to build a community for and about like-minded professionals in the technology space across the United States. Her goal was realized and under her leadership, Executive Alliance grew to be a recognized leader in its field.

No other person under the Executive Alliance umbrella of employees and contractors can continue to provide all of the elements that Ms. Heastings had brought to the company.  As a result of the loss of Ms. Heasting’s leadership, Executive Alliance is ceasing operations effective as of July 7, 2020.

The loss of Executive Alliance’s leader could not have come at a worse time for the company, as the COVID-19 pandemic was already creating challenges for the company’s events.  Executive Alliance’s business focused on interactive, in-person events, hosted at hotels and restaurants. Due to the COVID-19 travel and conference restriction policies of our attendee’s companies, coupled with the drastic decrease in air travel and hotel stays, Executive Alliance is, unfortunately, unable to fulfill any further events due to these unanticipated developments.  This includes cancellation of all scheduled and contemplated technology-related executive summits, roundtables, executive dinner programs, webinars, and custom programs across the U.S.

While Executive Alliance wishes it could offer refunds to those affected by its closure, the company is not able to provide such financial accommodations.  Like many small businesses that have closed or are facing financial headwinds in the current COVID-19 environment, Executive Alliance did not have large financial resources or assets to draw on when hit with an unexpected and drastic challenge to its survival.

In order to allow Ms. Heastings’ family to focus on her serious medical conditions and her prolonged healthcare needs, we ask that concerned colleagues not reach out to her directly at this time, although the hope is that she could receive such direct well wishes in the future.  If you wish to forward thoughts of support to Ms. Heastings, you may currently email to a monitored account at

Alternatively, if you have questions or concerns of a business nature, please refer those to the company’s wind-down legal counsel, Michael Robl. You may reach Mr. Robl by email at, or by facsimile at 404-537-1761, or by mail at 3754 Lavista Road, Suite 250, Atlanta, Georgia 30084.
