Mike Guenzler, SVP & CISO of Venerable Annuity shares his story of moving a giant to the cloud. There are many companies working on modernizing their legacy systems, Michael will tell the story of how they built an information security program to support the move of an acquired legacy variable annuity business to a 100% cloud environment in under 24 months. He will discuss the decision and planning process on making the move to the cloud, results, challenges, and lessons learned.
Michael is responsible for providing leadership, management, and strategy for all aspects of information security, operational risk, and business continuity. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in information security and the financial services industry, primarily with Fortune 500 companies. With Venerable, he has taken a “cloud-first” approach starting with a greenfield environment in building an information security program in support of the stand-up of the company. Michael completed his Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State University and received a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.
